Motivation #1: Soozie
Out first Motivation is Soozie. I chose her because I know a lot of you girls want to go into fashion. She’s just a student right now, but with her silly sense of humor combined with a serious work attitude, I can see her pimp smackin the industry and making it work for her.

Originally from Freehold, NJ but i will NEVER rep my home town! Hate it. Guidos and nobodies (minus a few)! Currently reside in NYC and love it- people here have their own style, are independent and have a voice.

what turns you on/off about guys?
A huge turn on is a guy that can make me laugh all day and someone i automatically click with. If theres no click in the beginning there is no click ever! There are a lot of things that turn me off about guys but to list a few.. guys that try too hard, guys that have no goals, guys that dont respect girls, guys that are not funny, guys that are pessimistic, guys that are too confident, guys that are not confident enough, guys that are obnoxious, guys that always get drunk, guys that are sleazy.. etc. I’m usually attracted to guys that are low key and don’t go out of their way to try and impress me. I’ll like you for being you!

what attracted you to your first crush?
I really cant even remember my first crush! My first boyfriend was in third grade.. i dont even know why i liked him, we didnt talk to each other at all. everyone told me in school that this guy liked me and it was a big deal in third grade and i just went with it and next thing you know, he was my ”boyfriend”. he’d come over to my house to drop off a present and i would hide in the basement until my sister went to the door, got my present, and he left.
- if you were a dude where would you take a girl on a date?
new roc city! worth the drive, money, and perfect first date place!

what is your ideal guy wearing?
Although im a fashion major, i dont notice mens clothes. A pair of dark jeans, t shirt and a fitted is usually what im attracted to. But that’s about half the men population of the world.. an interesting pair of shoes/boots will catch my eye or a special detail in the tailoring of their shirt/jacket? i dont know! All guys dress lame.. and the ones that dress well are gay so its a lost cause for everyone.
i love what i do and i want to be better than i tell myself i can be. my parents have supported me my whole life in doing what i was passionate about. They’ve invested so much time and so much more Money to help me pursue my dreams. When i feel lazy, i think about how hard they are working at their sweaty, hot cleaners to finance me and i get back on my shit. i swore to myself i’d pay them back tenfold after i become successful, and i will! i know i have a God given talent and a real passion for what i do and i trust that He’ll use them for something greater than i can even imagine.

Sky’s the limit! my fav quote is from House. “BE good, GET good, or give up.” if you have a passion you better push it as far as you can or you’re working for nothing.

where do you see yourself in 5 years?
either an assistant designer at a huge company or a head designer for a huge company or working on my own line.. living in nyc, possibly having a boyfriend-maybe not, definitely not thinking about anything close to marriage, still struggling to make it through this insane fashion business, and maybe in 5 years i’ll be able to chill at a bar and actually enjoy an alcoholic beverage. but most likely i’ll be chillin at a bar drinkin a virgin sprite and swearing to my friends that it’s a gin&tonic.

well right now fabolous – throw it in the bag is playin.. ‘fuck the price on the tag, just throw it in the bag’!! i wish i had the money to shop like that right now.. sucks being a broke design student with all my money going to supplies, f!
- how do you wake yourself up when you’re tired as hell but need to go to work/school?
Parsons will straight up Fail you if you miss a class three times, even if you’re on your death bed. Two lates is one absence and by late I mean this: first day of school I was running a little late, class at 9, clock says 8:59, running up the stairs and barge into the classroom at exactly 9:00:59 and my teacher put a big fat “L” next to my name. Whatever, it’s a good thing. I’m a lot more disciplined and I do not mess when it comes to waking up on time for school, work or a meeting.
keep interning at oscar de la renta and get to know people in high positions there. get good contacts, have a good rep, make an impression, hopefully get some free fabric from them, and ive been taking notes daily as they send me on errands and all around the garment district to keep as future references when i start my own company
